OBJECTIVES
The
INTERWOOD project aims to:
-develop co-operation between lowland woodland owners
-share different views on management related to the network
woodland properties
-develop the forestry- wood chain through the involvement
of both woodland owners and contractors, in order to stimulate
and innovate the timber supply commerce
-provide online sustainable woodland management advice
-create and consolidate new ways of contacting, communicating
and working, while sharing different social, cultural and
economic experiences
The
INTERWOOD project also aims to:
-support the lowland woodland associations initiatives and
promote their different views on woodland management and
maintenance
-compare all the different associations experiences on woodland
protection and management
-promote communication actions; jointly purchase services,
assistance and consulting; stimulate the discussion on woodland
sustainable management; encourage best practice in woodland
-stimulate innovative technology and management, in order
to improve services quality and sustainability, and to stimulate
the timber supply chain commerce
TARGETS
-create
a web based platform for the network management
-create the lowland woodland properties interactive database,
to collect and analyse scientific and technical estimates
of the woodlands related to the various lowland associations.
The objective is to provide information on the different
management systems and opportunities for generating additional
income from woodland sites
-get together a great number of lowland forestry association,
both Italian and Portuguese
-promote the foundation of new lowland forestry associations
